W E L C O M E to this site which is dedicated to all the people who contributed towards making the sixties around Warrington something special with their music and other activities.

I

So sad to hear of the passing on Saturday 8th November of Chris Herriman, also known as Chris Day on Radio Warrington.

Chris contracted severe meningitis a few years ago and ended up in a ‘life and death’ situation. He eventually recovered but was left with further health difficulties for the rest of his days.

His enthusiasm for 50-60’s music was evident in his Sunday show and was something to look forward to each week.

Although only knowing Chris for a short time we developed a good friendship and related various stories and anecdotes over the local airwaves of the early Rock-n-Roll years in Warrington.

My sincere condolences go to his family at this time.

Below is a short audio clip of Chris in action.

Just a little plug for our mate Pete Rigby, still going strong and DJ’ing at Warrington Town F.C.  every Friday night. But still available for any function where ‘proper’ music is required.
